India vs Iran Highlights, Women’s Kabaddi Final At Asian Games 2026: India Women Edge Past Iran In Thrilling Final, Clinch Gold

The Indian women’s kabaddi team successfully defended its Asian Games title, beating Iran 37-34 in the final at the Tokai Citizen Gymnasium. India, who also won gold at the previous edition in Hangzhou, led 22-16 at the break after a tense opening half.
The Indians continued to dictate the tempo in the second half, although Iran mounted a late challenge in the closing stages. However, disciplined defending helped India see out the contest and seal another gold medal in dominant fashion.
India held a 22-16 lead at half-time, but Iran produced a better show in the second half, winning it 18-15. However, the deficit proved too much to overcome as India clinched the gold. After the triumph, the Indian team took a victory lap of the arena and chanted the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.
India’s women’s kabaddi team has now won the Asian Games gold in every edition except the 2018 Jakarta Games, when they had to settle for silver after a defeat against Iran. It is a historic moment for India as this marks the fourth gold medal for the women’s kabaddi team at the Asiad.
