Last month, JioHotstar launched in several global markets, including the UK and Canada. Now, the streaming platform—backed by Reliance Industries—has announced its expansion into further international markets. Through a partnership with Starzplay, JioHotstar is entering new regions; rather than operating as a standalone application, it will function as a dedicated streaming hub within the Starzplay app and website, offering subscribers access to JioHotstar original content and Indian films.

JioHotstar Expands Its International Footprint
In a press release, JioHotstar announced its entry into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region via the streaming platform Starzplay. As part of this collaboration, a dedicated JioHotstar section will be featured on the Starzplay app and website, offering a wide array of Indian films, TV series, original content, and reality shows in multiple languages.

The platform will stream the upcoming new season of Koffee with Karan as well as the latest season of Bigg Boss in six languages, including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali. JioHotstar has confirmed that its content library for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will feature a substantial amount of Malayalam-language content, catering to the large Malayalam-speaking population in that region.

This expansion is part of Reliance’s strategy to develop JioHotstar into an international streaming platform. Users can access JioHotstar through the Starzplay “Plus” subscription plan, priced at 34.99 AED (approximately 960 INR) per month, which includes a multilingual content library. Those who opt for the Starzplay “Max” plan—priced at 49.99 AED (approximately 1,200 INR) per month—gain access to the full range of JioHotstar content, in addition to the sports programming offered by Starzplay.

This latest expansion follows JioHotstar’s initial launch in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore, where it debuted as a standalone streaming service last month.

JioHotstar reportedly has over 500 million active users. Its mobile subscription plans start at 79 rupees per month.
